The four-winged two-storey chateau, built around a square courtyard with a prismatic tower in the western façade, was built in the Renaissance style sometime around 1600. The adjoining neo-Romanesque chapel of St. Mary Magdalene was built in the years 1885 - 1887. The whole building is owned by the Prague Archbishopric. Between 2016 and 2018, the chateau was reconstructed and the adjacent park was revitalized, and the complex now serves as a four-star Chateau Dolní Břežany hotel. I will not write the history of the castle, because you can find it in the search engine. Since I have lived in the chateau for ten years, I would just like to inform you that this chateau will be a magnificent four-star hotel, which should be completed in 2018. The chateau has been dilapidated in recent years and has been waiting for reconstruction, the last of its inhabitants were after the nationalization in the "administration" of the building various institutions - between July 1949 and November 1959 the Ministry of Agriculture, then about a year interior. In 1974/76, quarters and training areas for members of the Ministry of the Interior, emergency regiments and "red berets" were built behind the eastern wall of the park. The chateau was returned to the Roman Catholic Church as part of its restitution. The action of the aforementioned owners "degraded" the former mansion to a mere central building of the army. A petrol station, garages, warehouses, shooting ranges, kennel, quarters, etc. were built in the garden and partly in the park. In the first half of 2018, the Archbishopric of Prague plans to open a four-star hotel at the chateau in Dolní Břežany, which it will subsequently operate on its own. Before that, however, the castle must undergo extensive reconstruction. At present, the company has been joined by the company STARKON Jihlava, a.s. So we have something to look forward to, because this castle will be a pearl in Dolní Břežany. Indeed, judge by your own visualization photos.
