Beautiful surroundings. Forty minutes to 1 hour by bus from Prague.

The chateau is currently in the middle of a large construction site and therefore of course not accessible to the public.

A very interesting structure. At the moment, on the territory of the castle, a construction site, as far as I understand, is an educational institution. The local stadium is located nearby. Below is an aluminum plant for the manufacture (stamping) of auto parts, Stroymetal. Also, there is a very good lake nearby. The nature is amazing.

The chateau in the neo-Gothic English style was rebuilt by Baron František Ringhoffer, the founder of the Velké Popovice brewery. Originally a fortress, then the seat of Prague bishops. Today private property, inaccessible. There is a beautiful church of St. František Serafinského.

Due to the new mission of the chateau, a complete reconstruction of the chateau building was carried out in the years 1999 to 2004. The restoration was preceded by the focus of the building, a detailed restoration survey and a subsequent construction and historical survey carried out in 1998–1999, which clarified the developmental stages of the building. Particular attention was paid to the oldest phase of construction - the medieval castle of the lords of Kamenice, the remains of the masonry were discovered during the repairs of the courtyard. A valuable discovery is the large Renaissance hall in the east wing and the large Gothic hall. In addition to the sightseeing route, you can also walk through the castle garden, in which you will find a centuries-old linden tree, after which the whole of Kamenice is named. Today, the linden tree is one of the protected trees, it was formed by the fusion of several trees, and it is really respectably huge.
