A hezká socha.
Once a girl with whom I was driving told me that when she was a little girl and used to ride with her mother, she always told her that she was her lion and that they could not have him at home, so that they would show him here to make that beautiful girl all they saw ... a nice story. And a pretty statue.

The statue of a twin-tailed lion with a Czech royal crown on the head is the work of the famous sculptor Josef Max from 1852, whose works are also decorated with Charles Bridge. It is located in the arch of the serpentine of Chotkova Street, in places where unfortunately only trams run, but it is possible to get to it by walking from the southeastern side - from the hotel "Pod Bruskou" street. The lion was part of a monument of Czech soldiers who died in Italy in 1848. At the present place the statue was transferred in 1953 from the Municipal Museum at Florenc. The road that connects Hradčany with the Lesser Town by an elegant serpentine was built in 1831 by Count Karel Chotek, the highest bourgeois of Bohemian Kingdom - the name of the road is valid since 1870. However, the first road (today's "Pod Bruskou" street) even for heavy trucks was built by Albrecht of Valdštejn in the 20th of the 17th century for his own building activity in the Lesser Town, but also for military purposes.
