A	Andrew Bagnall on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite unhappy with hotel, though to be clear not the staff. Arrived and went to room, upon entry it had an unsavoury smell so went to receptuon and was moved. Tried to book a couples massage as it was sold as a couples retreat; not possible as only one member of staff. Whirlpool not open; reception seemed unaware so little interstaff communication here. Upon arrival venting machine was empty, though it did have limited stock upon leaving. Staff were super helpful where they could be, most multilingual in Czech, German and English, hence the 2 stars. Would not recommend based on own experience.

T	Thomas Boddeus on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ the included food, diner and breakfast are not that good, there is enough choice, but the quality is below acceptable standards. rooms are fine but nothing special, got a nice view on a snowy world though. the interior(entrance, hallways, elevators) of the hotel seems fairly modern, but also quite cheap. enough parking places, staff talks English fairly well. if i were to go to this destination again, i would probably choose a different hotel.
A	Adam Fitchett on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very serviceable option. Breakfast was extensive but quality average. It was nice that the pancakes were cooked fresh. Staff were excellent - friendly and helpful. The rooms and decor was pretty basic and dated - not that that matters too much on a ski holiday. Very family orientated which wasn't great for us as a couple. The wellness suite was okay but facilities were average and there wasn't much too it. Also there was little privacy here. Personally wouldn't spend the money on that if i was to chose again. Having a ski rental on site was really useful and the chap was helpful. The ski lift was a short walk away and you can pick up lift passes there. Unfortunately the hotel is some way from the town and requires a bus (free) or a taxi (not so cheap) it meant we felt a little trapped in the hotel in the evenings and had the choice of just the one restaurant for dinner. Food was good at the restaurant but there was limited veggie options and prices were steep. Personally I would chose to stay closer to the town centre in future. Closer to food and drink options, shops and a greater selection of accessible ski slopes. Probably better for families less good for couples.

The stay overall was satisfactory, breakfasts were good, although an unpleasant surprise awaited us in the end. The whole stay was supooused to cost 674,40 EUR, that was a fixed price on booking. When it came to paying though, it turned out, that the hotel uses it's own sort of exchange rates and for this reason the charged us 730 EUR. Doesn't seem like a great difference, but iritates and creates an impression of lack of professionalism. So my advice is - should you visit them - pay straightaway, cause if you won't, they'll charge you additionally with strange, Czech conversion rates. And the laugh's on me, cause I payed in CZK (because I have an account in this currency), and they would still use their strange EUR - CZK conversion). So overall, the offer which I resevered on booking differed to what I got in Spindleruv Mlyn. What's important is that they do not inform about their strange conversion rates in the moment of conducting cotract (on booking.com), but when it comes to paying. Details matter Clarion Hotel, especially if you aspire to a "luxurious" standard.

When I asked about the higher price the receptionist didn’t want to give us a clear explanation and lacked a minimum of patience to do their job. They didn’t provide me with enough information about the exchange rate to euro. The exchange rate while booking online was way lower than the rate of the price I actually paid on my last day. They were very unfriendly and extremely rude if we asked any questions about it.
B	Bernd Lohse on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ultimately: better than expected. For their life they simply couldn't fix their internet and access point problems, until they seemed to have pulled it off. Great people on staff, who are at the core of their welcoming service. This review initially picked out one of the shortfalls, as it seemed symptomatic for just how notoriously under-invested many aging hotel chain branches are these days. But to our surprise they still are superior and do keep their facilities up-to-date at this Clarion. Suggestions were followed up quickly and topics resolved. Thanks again!
