How symbolic! After almost eight hundred years, the administration of Bezděz Castle, in the form of an institution of the National Conservation Institute, which administers state property, is located at a place where - back in the thirteenth century - the administrator of the royal estate was in charge of the construction of a medieval castle. In the 13th century, there was a courtyard of the administrator of the royal property. The archaeological research led by František Gabriel in 1996 also confirmed this fact along with the written sources found. In the yard there is a late baroque chateau from 1765-69, which replaced the older object of the same designation (Bezděz parish worked at least from the middle of the 13th century). To the northwest from it you can see an impressive statue of St. Jan Nepomucký.
