★ ★ ★ ★ ★ První svépomocná záložna u nás byla založena z podnětu vlašimského rodáka Jana Pláteníka v r. 1858. Najdete ji na nároží ulic Plátenikova a Na Valech. Působivá budova pro záložnu byla postavena r. 1872 podle návrhu vlašimského rodáka architekta Saturnina Hellera, žáka Josefa Zítka. Novorenesanční dvoupatrová stavba s předsunutou lodžií a ustupující nástavbou nad balkonem lodžie připomíná budovu Národního divadla v Praze. V roce 2014 vznikla v přízemí památkově chráněné budovy Galerie Občanské záložny.
The first self-help credit union in Czech was initiated by Vlašim native Jan Pláteník in 1858. You can find it on the corner of Plátenikova and Na Valech streets. The impressive building for the Savings Bank was built in 1872 according to the design of Vlašim's native Architect Saturnin Heller, a pupil of Josef Zítek. The Neo-Renaissance two-storey building with a forward loggia and receding superstructure above the balcony of the loggia commemorates the building of the National Theater in Prague. In 2014, the Civic Savings Bank Gallery was built on the ground floor of a listed building.
