I expected much more from Grand Restaurant Pupp. I mean we are talking about a 5 stars hotel which is hosting celebrities during the festival…so we should be expecting the highest standard of service and food!I went there on a Saturday evening with my wife. The service was awful : 1/ we needed to ask 3 times for the bill 2/ we had 4 different waiters who were obviously not communicating between each other and asked us for the same things several times 3/ waiters forgot to serve our coffees and didn’t propose any wine. 4/ The quality of the meals was poor, the foie gras was burned, the duck was dry and the dessert (carrot cake marinating in a sugar sauce) just not good, the chef should go get some inspiration elsewhere.5/ no one even bother to take our coats when we arrived (yes this is what i am expecting in a 5 stars hotel).Regarding the people who gave a score of 5/5 … they obviously never went to a Michelin restaurant. I would highly recommend them to go for dinner at Zizkov tower or U Zlate studne in Prague to compare and improve a bit their gastronomic culture… I will give 2 stars just because the place itself is really nice and the champagne was good.

We had to book a table for the next day and experienced various discussions between the staff and hotel guests whether a table would be available or not. However, we had a wonderful experience for the day booked. Outstanding location, friendly staff who inter alia spoke English, Russian and German, the food was great (in our opinion the best food in town) and they try to keep up the atmosphere of a grandrestaurant. We would come again.

Eating in the Grandrestaurant takes you back to a time when men were men, women were women, Grandrestaurants were where they met, and things generally were better. We had the Chef's menu with some minor tweaks in the dessert. Everything was fantastic - but not surprising. The cuisine is well grounded in a glorious past, maybe it could also look a bit into the future at some point. We took the thing, however, for what it was and had a wonderful and elegant time. I should add that the price structure in the Grandrestaurant Pupp is very well controlled, thus an enjoyable evening there should be in the reach for almost everybody. I recommend a nice suit though as this is what the environment requires. You will feel very awkward sitting there in a T-shirt.

The service is perfection on every level. The food is old school Czech food cooked at its very best. Highly recommended experience. Very affordable considering the above.
J	Jan Gemrich on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really amazing interior, friendly staff, they are also dog friendly. The food is good, but unfortunately not as good as the prices/location/cost would suggest and the portions of main dishes were small. On the other hand deserts were simply huge :-)
