The Kácov railway station is located approximately in the middle of today's line number 212, from Čerčany to Světlá nad Sázavou. In May 1900, the entire line of the lower Pacific was put into operation, so it was possible to concentrate on the construction of the upper Posázavská line. In the first phase, a railway line was built from Kolín via Rataj to Čerčany. At the same time, it was decided to build a branch from today's Ledečko station to Kácov, while the actual branch turning took place in Ratají. Construction began on August 30, 1899 and was completed at the end of July 1901. Public operation on the entire line was started in August 1901. At this moment, the Kácov railway station became the end station of the Posázavská line, but not for long, because at that time it was already decided to continue the line to Světlá nad Sázavou. The construction of the Kácov station enabled the forgotten village on the right bank of the Sázava River to flourish relatively well. Interesting fact: The zero kilometer gauge, lying directly opposite the station building, comes from the time when the track was built, ie from the time more than a hundred years ago. The newly built section Kácov - Světlá nad Sázavou did not follow the previous section Ledečko - Kácov in kilometers, therefore the zero kilometer of this line is calculated from the kácov railway station.
