The current town hall has been housed in the historic rectory building since 1814, when it was moved here from the square.

Největšího hospodářského rozmachu a významu dosáhl Kácov a s ním provázaný rozsáhlý nemovitý majetek za vlády Čejků z Olbramovic v předbělohorském období. In the Kácov area, long-distance merchant roads were crossed in ancient times. The first village of this area can be associated with Slavic settlement when Slavic families moved to Bohemia before the 6th century and occupied the fertile region here. The oldest records of the town are associated with the name of Černčic of Kácov, whose coat of arms connects them with gentlemen from the nearby Talmberk. The greatest economic boom and significance was achieved by Kácov during the reign of Čejka from Olbramovice in the Pre-Bílá Hora period. In the description of Bohemia by Pavel Stránský, Kácov is mentioned as a manor of higher nobility. Today, the name of the village is connected mainly with hiking and boating thanks to the beautiful surroundings of the river Sázava.
