The Baroque chapel from 1724, built at the expense of the townspeople of Kouřim, Vít Vavák and Václav Frýda, was remodeled to its current form in 1863. On the inner eastern wall, wall paintings from 1863 by Josef Mrkvička have been preserved in a pseudo-Gothic arch. They represent the Czech provincial patrons led by St. Cyril and Methodius. The chapel represents a basic type of small sacral buildings, created in Central Bohemia in the first half of the 18th century. Together with the chapel of St. Anny is one of the oldest monuments of its kind in the Kolín region. The baroque chapel built in 1724 and financed by the Kouřim burghers Vít Vavák and Václav Frýda was modified in 1863. A painting by the author Josef Mrkvička and made in 1863 are still (but poorly) preserved on the inner eastern chapel´s wall. They represent the Czech Earth patrons, headed by St. Cyril and Methodius. The chapel represents the basic type of small sacral structures that originated in Central Bohemia in the first half of the 18th century. Together with the Chapel of St. Anne belongs to the oldest monuments of its kind in Cologne.
