Pěkné náměstí až na ten provoz! To kazí dojem.
Nice square except for the traffic! That spoils the impression.

Kašna je pěkně z restaurovaná...bohužel provoz aut je docela silný.
The fountain is nicely restored ... unfortunately the traffic of cars is quite strong.

Beautiful, newly restored fountain on the square of Bohemian Paradise in Turnov, replaced the fountain demolished in 1953. The statue of the Virgin Mary is from the original fountain and after the demolition was rescued in the church. Nicholas.

A sandstone fountain with a gilded statue of patron Turnov, Virgin Mary in Bohemian Paradise´square is such a small local rarity - it connects the fountain and the Marian column. This is a small replica of the original fountain, which had been in the middle of the square since 1778. The statue of the Virgin Mary, the patron of Turnov, the work of the Prague sculptor Josef Max, was preserved from the original fountain. It´s first gilding was made in 1848 from the foundation of Turnov burghers. The fountain was removed due to Communist despotism in 1953. The idea for reconstruction of the fountain was born after 1989 in the Association of Natives and Friends of Turnov, financially contributed by a number of Turnov citizens and significant amount also from the exceptional patron of the town and Bohemian Paradise Bohuslav Horacek. The work was done by the stone company Nosek-Jon from Hořice in Podkrkonoší. The festive consecration of the fountain and the opening of the whole newly reconstructed square took place on 28 October 1998 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia.

Beautiful square, clean and comfortable to sit. All buildings around are well maintained and in the writer they keep some snow and build a hill for the children to play! Such a good idea!
