Konojed Castle (also referred to as a house or chateau) stands between the Starschedel House and the Chapel of the Sorrowful Mother of God. In 1552, at the request of Friedrich of Salhausen, it was built by Valentin Hirsch of Annaberg in Saxony. The name comes from other owners, who was one of the owners of the Konojedy estate. After 1705, there was a hospital on its premises. It has not been used since 1945, only the western extension functions as a garage. The house is a Renaissance building, which is decorated with two gables revealing the time setting to the Upper Castle from the time after the fire in 1571. The interior is designed with vaulted spaces, such as a corridor with a staircase, which is vaulted with a net vault terminated by recessing into a stone wall without consoles. However, the exterior is generally indistinct after a number of modifications. The Konojed Castle (also called a house or a mansion) stands between the Starshedel House and the Chapel of the Holy Mother of God. There was hospitalized in it´s premises after 1705. Since 1945 it is not used, only the western annex works as a garage. The house is a renaissance building, which is decorated with two shields, which reveals the time frame to the Upper Chateau after the fire in 1571. The interior is solved with vaulted spaces, for example a corridor with a staircase, which is concealed by a vaulting net that has been finished in a stone wall without brackets. The exterior is however totally insignificant after many unfortunate modifications.

So the castle stands and it looks like repairs are really being done on it. When it's done, I'll definitely go see it. So far, you can only get over the fence and on as it is being repaired. He will be really nice. So we will see when the interior will be operational. It looks nice on the outside. In the meantime, it is planned to open a church where a tour will be conducted. I hope it will work out. I keep my fingers crossed that all this will go as planned.
