The impressive pseudo-Gothic longitudinal single-nave church was built between 1893 and 1895 on the site of the original small wooden church (or perhaps a chapel) from the 14th century with the generous help of the locals, thanks to which the construction was completed in two years. The patron saint of the church was Prince Adolf Josef Schwarzenberg and Countess Marie Antonie Silva-Tarouca. The original wooden church is mentioned together with the rectory in 1460, when the then owner of the village Mathes von Fiala had a chapel of the Virgin Mary with a small bell built at the lower end of the village. Due to the time of its establishment and the surrounding buildings, the church is oriented to the south, so the prismatic tower stands in the northern façade and forms a significant dominant feature of the village. Architecturally, the building has been preserved in its original condition from 1895 and many details of the interior have been preserved. Church bells were requisitioned in favor of the army in the First and Second World Wars. Since 2005, the church has been protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. Architecturally, the structure was preserved in its original condition from 1895 and many interior details have been preserved from those times as well. The church bells were confiscated during the First and Second World Wars for the need of the army. Since 2005 the church has been protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
