Maří Magdaleny Původní dřevěný farní kostel stával v Sobotce již ve 14. století. V letech 1590 - 96 byl na jeho místě postaven nový kostel v pozdně gotickém slohu. Stavbu financoval majitel panství Oldřich Felix z Lobkovic, který kostelu věnoval stříbrnou pozdně gotickou monstranci a iluminovaný graduál, bohatě zdobenou knihu liturgických zpěvů. V druhé polovině 19. století byly zbourány kaple a byla snížena věž. Interiér kostela je pozdně barokní. Na hlavním oltáři je obraz sv. Maří Magdaleny, po jeho stranách stojí sochy sv. Václava a sv. Anny. Interiér kostela zdobí také kazatelna se sochami čtyř evangelistů, Krista Vítězného a reliéfem Posledního soudu. Rokokové varhany z roku 1748 s bohatou figurální výzdobou jsou stále funkční. Zajímavost: Na stěně presbytáře jsou umístěny tři náhrobky lobkovických dětí, kterými se později nechal inspirovat sochař Otto Guttfreund při vytváření známého sousoší Babička s vnoučaty, které se nachází v Ratibořicích. Attraction: There are three tombstones of Lobkowitz children on the presbytery wall, later inspired by the sculptor Otto Guttfreund in the creation of the famous statue of Grandmother with grandchildren in Ratibořice.

Kostel přišel o původní klenby i pozdější strop, dnes je tam moderní náhrada. A well-preserved Gothic church with a dominant tower dominates the city. The nice interior attracts tall windows. The church lost its original vaults and later ceiling, today there is a modern replacement.
