Skládá se ze sedmi zastavení v podobě pískovcových výklenkových kaplí, které vznikly v letech 1694 až 1699 za přispění bohatých donátorů. Tvůrcem její ideové koncepce byl františkánský kazatel Johannes Lorent. Podle barokní tradice odpovídá její délka - od kadaňské radniční věže k františkánskému klášteru Čtrnácti sv. Pomocníků - délce jeruzalémské křížové cesty.
The sacral monument depicts the Stations of the Cross of Jesus Christ, His Crucifixion and Ascension. It consists of seven stops in the form of sandstone alcove chapels, which were built between 1694 and 1699 with the help of rich donors. Its concept was created by Franciscan preacher Johannes Lorent. According to the Baroque tradition, its length corresponds - from the Town Hall Tower of Kadaň to the Franciscan Monastery of the Fourteen St. Helpers - to the length of the Jerusalem Stations of the Cross.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Je to nádherná památka. Vždy jsem byl přesvědčen, že mimo jiné má svou hodnotu, když je na místě, kam jí postavili naši předci. Celá tato křížová cesta je už minimálně 2x přemístněná. To však nic nemění na jejím kouzlu.
It is a beautiful monument. I have always been convinced that, among other things, it has value when it is in the place where our ancestors built it. This entire Stations of the Cross has already been relocated at least twice. But that doesn't change her charm.
