Od roku 1930 neslo náměstí jméno T. G. Masaryka, v roce 1952 bylo přejmenováno na Náměstí 9. května a v roce 1990 opět na Masarykovo náměstí. Na náměstí je renovována kašna a mariánský sloup s trpící Marií a korintskou hlavicí, u kterého se se často konaly náboženské slavnosti. Sloup je vysoký 3,8 metru a spirálovitě ovinut listnatým větvovím, do něhož jsou vpleteny nástroje, kterými byl umučen Kristus. Na podstavci je vpředu ve věnci znak břevnovského konventu a opata. The first mention of the Police at Metují comes from the 13th century, when King Přemysl Otakar II. granted the town the right to hold markets. The square formed a natural shopping center. From 1930, the square bore the name of T. G. Masaryk, in 1952 it was renamed Náměstí 9. května and in 1990 again Masarykovo náměstí. The square and the Marian column with the suffering Mary and the Corinthian capital are being renovated in the square, where religious festivities were often held. The column is 3.8 meters high and spirally wrapped with deciduous branches, into which the instruments with which Christ was martyred are woven. On the pedestal, in front of the wreath, is the emblem of the Břevnov Convent and the abbot.

Nice square with a beautiful town hall and a distinctly but tastefully colored pharmacy :-))) We will never miss a snack at Jůlinka - it is beautifully cold and good.

Malé mínu sje jen provoz na tomto jinak velmi hezkém náměstí. Nice square, which is worth a short visit.
