Najdete tu i obvykle prislusenstvi, jako heraci u podchodu, smazky na autobusovem stani MHD, opile bezdomovce na byvalem parkovisti, kde s oblibou okradala turisty taxi služba Čorges a jini poctivy taxikari, smenarnu, ktera vas natre hned pri prichodu a podobny kolorit lidi a sluzeb, jako jeden z poslednich nadraznich bufacu a pivni okenko umiste ve sloupu. Připojení přes nádraží Praha-Bubny a Negrelliho viadukt nebylo realizovatelné z důvodu výškových poměrů. V roce 1956 vznikl projekt na stavbu nové spojovací tratě nazvané Holešovická přeložka. V rámci tohoto projektu byl v letech 1967–1974 vybudován tunel pod Bílou skálou[3]. Železniční most přes Vltavu byl kolaudován v roce 1976. Až na počátku 70. let vznikla dodatečná potřeba výstavby nádraží na této trati, když už bylo jasné, že s přestavbou Hlavního nádraží nelze brzy počítat. Celá Holešovická přeložka byla zprovozněna v roce 1980. Železniční stanice Praha-Holešovice byla uvedena do provozu v roce 1985. Původně byla určena zejména pro mezinárodní rychlíky. Nyní zde zastavují též regionální vlaky. Do nádraží jsou zaústěny také dvě vlečky, které se však od povodní v roce 2002 nepoužívají. V dubnu 2004 České dráhy zahájily provoz městské železniční linky Roztoky u Prahy – Praha-Libeň přes nádraží Praha-Holešovice. Od listopadu 2005 do prosince 2008 bylo toto nádraží výchozí a konečnou stanicí vlaků SuperCity vlakových souprav Pendolino.[4] Railway expert Miroslav Chlumecký was already engaged in the idea of railway connection of today's Main Station with the line from Kralupy nad Vltavou.
