Hřbitov vypadal dlouhou dobu opuštěný a neudržovaný. The new Jewish cemetery was founded in 1903, the last burials took place here in 1973 and 1990, urns are still stored here. On an area of 6205 m2, about 700 tombstones, mostly made of black artificial stone, have been preserved. The cemetery is adjacent to the western part of the large communal cemetery in Malvazinky. The entrance from Peroutkova Street can be found between the wall of the communal cemetery and the concrete Adventist prayer house. The unmarked entrance is not easy to find, and when I succeeded, I came across a locked entrance gate. The cemetery looked abandoned and unmaintained for a long time. On the northern side of the cemetery a large ceremonial hall stood in the neo-romantic style, rebuilt in the 1970s into a prayer room of the Adventist Church. The eastern part is dominated by the neo-baroque tomb of Josef and Rosa Porges of Portheim. The Austrian-Czech business and factory owners family of Jewish origin was promoted to aristocratic status in 1841 and some members of the family also became politicians. Among the important literary personalities, the German poet, translator and lawyer Friedrich Adler (1857–1938) is buried here. In 1956, the urn of the poet and novelist Rudolf Fuchs (1890–1942), who perished in London exile during the German bombing, was placed here.
