The old Radlice Jewish cemetery was founded in 1788 due to the lack of space for burial in the cemetery in Josefov, Prague. Approximately 600 Baroque, Neo-Gothic, Classicist and modern tombstones have been preserved on an area of 1,500 square meters. The youngest of them dates from 1937. Next to the cemetery is a small monumental Classicist tomb house / morgue (with No. 2556) dating from the 19th century. The Porges of Porthaim are buried in a Neo-Baroque tomb by the eastern wall of the cemetery. Since 1976, the cemetery has been registered as a cultural monument. It is accessible by prior arrangement by phone or e-mail.

It is one of the oldest Jewish cemeteries in the world, one of the main Jewish monuments in Prague. Personally, I was very moved and more when you are interested in the history of the Jews. Next to it you will find the Klaus synagogue. Visit in January, good time to avoid the crowds.

I wish we cud have gone in. It is under construction. However you can see in thru the wall. I never visited cemeteries before but this one I wanted to visit. It seemed lost and forgotten. No stones of memorial. A place to be honored
