Původní dvoupatrová gotická brána byla v průběhu věků přestavěna na sýpku, kdy také přibylo třetí podlaží. Nádhernou ukázkou gotického stavitelství v kraji je nepochybně lomený oblouk portálu a bezžebrová křížová klenba v průchodu. Po několikset let byla tato brána jediným vstupem na staroboleslavské náměstí, ale roku 1934 byl probourán objezd. Nad lomeným obloukem směrem do náměstí je umístěn nápis následujícího znění: "JSEM PRÁVĚ BOLESLAV MNE BOLEM OSLAVIL, KDYŽ VĚNEC TU DOVIL SVÉ SLÁVY VĚNCESLAV"
Staroboleslavská Gate is most probably the only preserved one of the original two city gates that arose during the reign of Emperor Charles IV, under whose reign the major reconstruction of the city fortifications was completed. The original two-story Gothic Gate was rebuilt over the ages, with the third floor added. A gorgeous example of gothic architecture in the region is undoubtedly a broken arch of the portal and a noble cross vault in the passage. For several years, this gate was the only entrance to Staroboleslavské Square, but in 1934 the new much wider entrance was break through in neighbouring object.

Zvláštností je lomený oblouk portálu a bezžebrová křížová klenba v průchodu. Až do roku 1934 byl průchod branou jediným přístupem na náměstí ve směru od Brandýsa nad Labem. Právě v roce 1934 byl proveden objezd vedle brány, a tak dnes průchod slouží pouze pěším. Nad lomeným obloukem směrem do náměstí je umístěn nápis „JSEM PRÁVĚ BOLESLAV MNE BOLEM OSLAVIL, KDYŽ VĚNEC TU DOVIL SVÉ SLÁVY VĚNCESLAV“. Brána je jednou z dominant města, nedá se přehlédnout.
The Old Boleslav Gate is a preserved city gate from the time of Charles IV. The original two-storey Gothic gate was increased by one floor. A special feature is the angled arch of the portal and the ribless cross vault in the passage. Until 1934, the passage through the gate was the only access to the square in the direction from Brandýs nad Labem. It was in 1934 that a detour was made next to the gate, so today the passage serves only pedestrians. Above the broken arch towards the square there is an inscription "I JUST BOLESLAV CELEBRATED ME BOLEM WHEN THE WORLD HAD ITS HER FAMOUS VENCESLAV HERE". The gate is one of the dominants of the city, it can not be overlooked.
