The beautiful Renaissance summer house was built by Jetřich Jiří Berka in 1583. The listed Red House served for a long time as a hunting lodge for the manor. At the end of the 18th century it housed a dyehouse and from 1837 to 1882 the inn Zum Kessel. When the Lipý Sugar Factory operated in the neighboring castle in the 19th century, the Red House was incorporated into its premises in 1882. After restoration in 1889, it began to be used for housing. 50 years later, the Českolipské Museum was opened in it and served in this form until 1964, today it has a depository. That is why the chateau is not open to the public today, but perhaps that could change in the future. The beautiful Renaissance summer house was built by Jetřich Jiří Berka in 1583. At the end of the 18th century there was a dye house and in the years 1837 to 1882 the inn Zum Kessel was there as well. When the sugar factory was operating in the 19th century in the neighboring Lipý castle, the Red House was incorporated into it´s premises in 1882. After redevelopment in 1889 it began to serve for housing purposes. 50 years later the Českolipsko Museum was open in it´s premises and it served in this form until 1964. Today it is a museum depository - that's why the manor is not accessible to the public today, but perhaps it could change in the future.
