Restaurace Pod Habsteinem - Jestřebí 14

We loved the food (the spinach was on the salty side) BUT it took well over an hour to get a steak and grilled salmon. We were hungry and probably looking desperate, so with the food we got a moral story that we should stop frowning at them as everyone is doing what they can. The restaurant has 7 tables indoor and about 5 outdoor ... there were 3 full indoor and all full outdoor ... MAYBE they need more people or less tables.

My wife and I have eaten here 4 times now and our experience has gotten better each time. The menu is varied and the dishes prepared with culinary expertise. The vegetarian menu is extensive and creative, which is a real plus for me. The only detraction is the kitschy decor in an otherwise tastefully restored interior.

Amazing food, but the waiting time is horrible. We ordered 2 fish, and the waiter told us in advance that it would take 30 min, but in reality it took exactly one hour. No one seems to care, and it's not the first time that it happened.

Children and dog friendly restaurant. The staff was very helpful, they even had the menu in English. The chef was also accommodating a special request from us, regarding one of the dishes. Very tasty home-made lemonade!

Friendly service, fantastic food and wonderful atmosphere - what else can one ask for? :)

Interiors are very nice and food is good too. Unfortunately the service is well below expectations. We went there in a group of 4 adults and 1 child. On arrival we were informed that all tables inside are reserved and were offered table on the terrace which we were more than happy to accept. Unfortunately we were waiting nearly 2 hours for our food. On top of that the meal ordered for the child were not prepared as the waiter forgot to inform kitchen about it. When we complained about the time the waiter informed us that the kitchen gives priority for the customers with reservation. She claimed that she told us about this when we were placing our orders but none of us remember such thing. I am not Czech so there was a possibility of misunderstanding due to language barrier but there was one Czech person with us and she did not get such information either. My friend who invited us there and paid for the dinner get very upset, and I felt quite bad too as I was the one who recommended this restaurant. The evening was ruined and left us with a bad taste. It is a shame it end up this way as it was our farewell evening with them and we wont see them for a long period of time. To be fair I have to mention that our bill was reduced and we didn't pay for the cheese and pate which we had for starters. So my recommendation will be - book your table in advance or be prepared to wait for your meal.

Very nice and cozy restaurant, great food. A bit expensiver, but great for a trip … inside looks cool.
