However, it was installed in the park in front of the house, where he lived between 1903-1930, six years later, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his death. The author of the work is Professor Karel Pokorný, the architectural design of the pedestal was designed by Jaroslav Fragner. Alois Jirásek was born on August 23, 1851 in Hronov, died in Prague on March 12, 1930, but is buried in his native Hronov. He was an important Czech writer, playwright and politician. His work is very extensive - from mythical times (Old Czech legends still form part of compulsory reading in primary schools), through the Hussites, the post-White Mountain period to the national revival. He was also the author of successful dramas. Bronzový pomník spisovatele Aloise Jiráska v nadživotní velikosti vznikl v roce 1954. Do parku před domem, kde bydlel mezi lety 1903-1930, byl však osazen až o šest let později, u příležitosti 50. výročí jeho úmrtí. Autorem díla je profesor Karel Pokorný, architektonické ztvárnění podstavce navrhl Jaroslav Fragner. Alois Jirásek se narodil 23. srpna 1851 v Hronově, zemřel v Praze 12. března 1930, ale pohřben byl v rodném Hronově.

Jirasek was a 4 time nominee for a Nobel Prize in literature, although he never won. The monument is a bronze sculpture of a seated Jirasek as an elderly man. He is staring straight ahead, coincidentally at the dancing house opposite. On his right lap is an open book and his right hand is hovering over it.
