★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A veryn ice statue. At the evening, the place serves for gathering youngsters - most of them drunk, but not dangerous. Diferent kinds of protests take place here too - usually with very low audience. Please, respect the dog owners - their dogs - at lest some of them - are not on a leash.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This monument stands in tribute to František Palacký, a 19th century Czech historian and politician, given the epithet "Father of the Nation" for his influential role in the Czech National Revival.
The monument is well ... monumental. It depicts a religiously themed, heaven and hell allegory depicting two groups of sculptures waging a battle between the forces of good and evil. The monument is massive compared to many other monuments in Prague and done is an odd asymmetricO Art Nouveau style. František Palacký sits passively at the centre of the monument while the figurative forces are on the verge of victory.
Even though the monument is well off the main tourist circuit, it’s a fantastic monument to visit if you have the time.
