Ассоциация Hlahol дала концерт и с основной речью выступил второй председатель Svatobor, Франтишек Ладислав Ригер. По этому случаю Францисканская площадь была переименована в площадь Юнгмана и на бывшую улицу Широка на площади Юнгмана . Строительство памятника Йозефу Юнгманну было инициировано Франтишеком Палацким, председателем Svatobor, вместе со своим зятем Франтишеком Ладиславом Ригером в 1866 году. Они обратились к скульптору Вацлаву Леви, работавшему в то время в Риме, и архитектор Антонин Барвити. Левый изучал скульптуру в Ватикане и создал эскиз и небольшую модель скульптуры. Идея просветления как сидящей фигуры со свитком и пером заимствована из античности. Работа над памятником была прервана болезнью и внезапной смертью Леви в 1870 году. Затем контракт был передан другу и сотруднику Леви Людвику Шимеку, который использовал оригинальный эскиз, представил два варианта и завершил скульптуру в 1872 году. The monument to Joseph Jungmann was inaugurated on May 15, 1878 with the participation of hundreds of associations and guilds and thousands of citizens, including villagers in traditional costumes. The Hlahol Association gave a concert and the keynote speech was delivered by the second chairman of Svatobor, František Ladislav Rieger. On this occasion, Franciscan Square was renamed into Jungman Square and the former Shiroka Street in Jungman Square. The construction of the monument to Josef Jungmann was initiated by Frantisek Palacky, chairman of Svatobor, together with his son-in-law Frantisek Ladislav Rieger in 1866. They turned to the sculptor Vaclav Levi, who was working in Rome at the time, and the architect Antonín Barviti. Left studied sculpture at the Vatican and created a sketch and a small model of the sculpture. The idea of enlightenment as a seated figure with a scroll and a feather is borrowed from antiquity. Work on the monument was interrupted by illness and Levy's sudden death in 1870. The contract was then handed over to Levi's friend and collaborator Ludwik Szimek, who used the original sketch, presented two versions, and completed the sculpture in 1872. The foundation stone of the monument was laid in 1873 by the first chairman of the Svatobor Society, Frantisek Palacky. The statue was cast in Vienna, the pedestal was designed by Antonin Barviti and manufactured by E. Ackermann from Weisenstadt, Bavaria. I recommend for viewing!

Along with Josef Dobrovský, he is considered a leading figure of the Czech National Revival of the Czech language and culture. This monument features a Bronze statue of Jungmann sitting on a chair. His left hand is hung over the armrest, casually holding a half unrolled scroll. The sculpture sits upon a granite pedestal with his name engraved. Not much to see to be honest. Probably one for the locals more than tourists.
