Kameny i vegetace v prameni a jeho okolí jsou pokryty světle okrovými sraženinami, které vytváří bakterie Leptothrix ochracea. Této bakterii se daří ve vodách bohatých na železo a toho je zde ve vodě to správné množství. Název pramene je lidového původu a vznikl na základě mylného předpokladu, že okrové zabarvení tvoří síra. K prameni vede odbočka z rozcestí U Jána na zeleně značené turistické trase, která vede od Chaty Luž do Stožeckého sedla. Místo je vcelku dobře přístupné, rozhodně doporučuji návštěvu. The sulfur spring is a very interesting place. However, it has little in common with sulfur. The stones and vegetation in the spring and its surroundings are covered with light ocher precipitates, which are formed by the bacteria Leptothrix ochracea. This bacterium thrives in iron-rich waters, and the right amount is in the water. The name of the spring is of folk origin and originated from the erroneous assumption that the ocher color is sulfur. A branch from the U Jána crossroads leads to the spring on a green marked tourist route, which leads from Chata Luž to Stožecký sedlo. The place is quite accessible, I definitely recommend a visit.

K	Kaarl-Heinz Nüschel on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sehr schöne kleine Quelle mitten im Wald. Absolut sehenswert, allerdings ohne Sitzmöglichkeiten - außer denen, die Natur einem bietet. Respektiert die Natur und der Besuch lohnt sich, auch schon der Erholung wegen. Leider ist der Weg dahin sehr schlecht ausgeschildert und nicht barrierefrei (Logisch, ist mitten im Wald) wegen der fehlenden Beschilderung ein Stern Abzug. Very nice little spring in the middle of the forest. Absolutely worth seeing, but without seating - except for those that nature offers. Respects nature and is worth a visit, if only for relaxation. Unfortunately, the way there is very poorly signposted and not barrier-free (logically, it is in the middle of the forest) because of the lack of signage, a star deduction.
