Lock for sale! Public admission prohibited. At the end of the 17th century, the Rococo chateau HOŘÍN was born near Mělník, not far from the confluence of the Vltava and Elbe rivers. Originally a hunting lodge in the village of Hořín, it was built at the request of Count J. Černín according to the design of the architect G.B. Alliprandi. The paintings were decorated by the painter F.M. Schiffer with his brother Antonín. The architecture of the building combines elements of the late Baroque with the early Rococo. In the 1990s, it was returned to the Mělník branch of the Lobkowicz family and its current owner is Jiří Lobkowicz. After the revolution, he adopted Czechoslovak citizenship and now lives in the Mělník chateau, which he repaired and returned to, for example, wine production. Unfortunately, the Hořín chateau is waiting for reconstruction. Sad. Will he see it?

During the socialist era, it was nationalized and used for school purposes, in the 1990s it was returned to the Mělník branch of the Lobkowicz family and its current owner is Jiří Lobkowicz, born in 1956 in Zurich.
