★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 4 km od Mladé Boleslavi stával hrad Chlum, který při své obraně použil valy zbudované zde již před osídlením Slovany. Hrad byl zřejmě dřevěný a zanikl pravděpodobně před rokem 1459, kdy je již zmiňovaný jako zbořený. Založen byl pány z Chlumu v 1.polovině 13.století . Z předhradí se dochovaly pouze valy a příkop, z hradu nic, dnes je na místě hradu sad, nicméně místní pojmenování zůstává. Kolem místa vede naučná stezka a ta vás zavede na další hradiště zvané Švédské šance. Jde o mimořádně zachované a krásně viditelné osídlení. Celé území Chlumu je nádherné a doporučuji jeho návštěvu.
4 km from Mladá Boleslav used to stand Chlum Castle, which used its defenses built before the settlement of the Slavs. The castle was probably wooden and disappeared probably before 1459, when it is already mentioned as demolished. It was founded by the Lords of Chlum in the first half of the 13th century. Only the ramparts and moat have been preserved from the bailey, nothing from the castle, nowadays there is an orchard on the site, however the local name remains. A nature trail leads past the site and takes you to another fortified settlement called Swedish Chance. It is an exceptionally well-preserved and beautifully visible settlement. The whole area of Chlum is beautiful and I recommend his visit.
