The bridge is very beautiful, it is not for nothing that they say that it is a “mini Charles Bridge”. But it’s bad that it is not for pedestrians. It can only be viewed from the side.

Beautiful, really beautiful. Look for original sculptures in a small cemetery. There is also a guide in the cemetery, so it is with an interesting commentary, both on the cemetery and statues.

Nádherný čtyřicetimetrový barokní tříobloukový most ze žulových kvádrů přes Stržský potok byl postaven v první polovině 18. století a nahradil původní dřevěný most, který sloužil jako hlavní přístup ke klášteru. V roce 1761 ho nechal vyzdobit sochami osmi světců opat žďárského kláštera Bernard Hennet, nástupce opata Václava Vejmluvy. Výzdoba byla inspirována barokní výzdobou Karlova mostu v Praze. Sloup s postavou sv. Benedikta, sv. Mikuláše, sv. Jana a sv. Cyrila, na druhé pak sv. Bernarda, sv. Vojtěcha, sv. Pavla a sv. The magnificent forty-meter Baroque three-arched bridge made of granite blocks over the Stržský stream was built in the first half of the 18th century and replaced the original wooden bridge, which served as the main access to the monastery. In 1761, the abbot of the Žďár monastery, Bernard Hennet, the successor to Abbot Václav Vejmluva, decorated it with statues of eight saints. The decoration was inspired by the Baroque decoration of Charles Bridge in Prague. Column with the figure of st. John of Nepomuk stood since 1701 south of the bridge, in the same place as today. On one side of the bridge there are statues of St. Benedict, St. Nicholas, St. John and St. Cyril, on the other St. Bernard, St. Vojtěch, St. Paul and St. Methodius. The author of these sculptures is unknown. For each statue of a saint, there is a commentary on the high pedestal explaining the choice of the individual figures. In 2008-2009, original sculptures were replaced by high-quality copies during the complete reconstruction of the bridge.

Almost 300 year old, three-arch baroque bridge. Unfortunately relatively inconspicuous due to the general traffic, but if you take a closer look: beautiful.

Barokní most starý téměř 300 let trpící pod tíhou automobilové dopravy pro kterou nebyl zcela určitě stavěn a přesto stále slouží, zatímco dnešní mosty nevydrží většinou ani 30 let. Jak to, že dříve šlo stavět kvalitněji ?
The Baroque bridge, which is almost 300 years old, suffers under the weight of car traffic, for which it was certainly not built and yet it still serves, while today's bridges usually do not last even 30 years. How come it used to be better built?
