Podle legendy založil studnu Boček z Obřan v roce 1252 a dokonce dala název celému klášteru "Fons Beatae Mariae Virginis" - Studnice blažené Panny Marie. I visited the castle on the winter weekend, when only the Museum of the New Generation was opened and there were no tours of the castle. But I had the task of seeing the Well Chapel, if possible. The entrance to the former Garden of Eden was closed, but in the end I took advantage of the view from the window on the first floor of the convent, where there is a permanent exhibition dedicated to Santini. The well chapel was originally Gothic, it was rebuilt in the Baroque style by the Kutná Hora builder Giovanni Battista Spinetti de Angelo. According to legend, it was founded by Boček of Obřany in 1252 and the well even ghave a name the whole monastery "Fons Beatae Mariae Virginis" - Well of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The water from this well allegedly healed Boček later. Its symbol is also part of today's emblem of the city. A ten-sided chapel with 18 meters (originally 32 meters) deep carved well supplied the monastery with drinking water. During the Hussite riots the monastery was burnt down and the well was backfilled. Around 1710, the chapel was newly vaulted by Jan Blažej Santini and he also placed a baroque forged grille on which the statue of the Madonna was placed. In 2005, the overall restoration began. The chapel consecration ceremony took place in October 2010.
