I had a beautiful room, clean and with a good bed. Only the window in the room wasn't closing well (happy I was there in a warm weather) and the design is of an old hotel, where all the wooden parts are making noise. The breakfast was not impressive and the restaurant not quite welcoming.

The hotel is said to have been one of the most famous and important buildings in Pilsen´s history. It was founded in 1895, originally called Menčík, later Pilsner Hof. At the end of the 1920s, it was (already under the name Continental) renovated by the new owner Václav Ledecký. During World War II, it was visited by members of the Gestapo due to its exclusivity. During the bombing of Škoda's factory by American planes at the end of 1944, about 70 people died in Pilsen, while a large part of them died in the Continental, where the bomb fell and exploded. After the liberation, the renovated hotel became the main residence of US military commanders. After the onset of communism, in 1952, the hotel was nationalized and returned to the hands of the original owner after the revolution. Its 48 rooms offer accommodation with an approximate price of 1000 - 1190 CZK per bed. The building has been a cultural monument since 1993 and was last renovated in 2015. Hotel patřil údajně v historii k nejznámějším a nejvýznamnějším budovám v Plzni.

+ Hotel has a great location, easy to be accessed by car (book hotel parking in advance, alternatively you can park on the streets for free over the weekend). Walking distance to city center. + Comfy bed. Building of the hotel has interesting history. + Surrounded by plenty of (good) options to eat or have coffee - Renovation from 2015 is not very visible. Expect rather basic standard of the rooms with two beds tucked up together, old carpet, basic furniture and old (thin) windows - Breakfast - forget about any diet, their continental breakfast is selection of salty scrambled eggs, bread, cheese, ham, veggies, mussli and yoghurt, postmix juice and coffee from oddly looking. This is the biggest disappointment for us since the restaurant has such a nice potential but is clearly stuck in 90s. Luckily you can get amazing breakfast right next door. - Staff of the hotel was not very helpful (if present), so you might feel like in hostel rather than hotel

Guy at the reception was annoyed as soon as he saw us, as if he wished that he could be left alone. Very creepy rooms. Disgusting smell in the hallway.

I love the style of the hotel, especially the Cafe is gorgeous. The location is great and provides parking for a reasonable price. However, the receptionist was rather unwelcoming, borderline rude. The room was ok, but I had a really strange feeling about the carpets. They felt strange, maybe damp I don't know. Wouldn't walk on the bare foot. Double bed was OK, but had 2 mattresses and a wooden support between them, more like two single beds. Really nice retro sofa. Breakfast was good. If you really like retro style and don't mind the price, might be a good choice for you.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel a lot. It has a bit of an old school vibe but in such a building I find this not to be a problem. The breakfast was very nice and the staff very friendly in all cases. The room size and the equipment is is sufficient. We very much enjoyed the renovated bathroom which unlike the rest of the hotel looks very modern and was equipped with a large bathtub.
