In the summer I stopped here for two in the garden :-) I liked the atmosphere. Too bad there was no time for more.

Used by currency exchange. The rate in the city is better, but it is recommended when you have cash immediately. People at the reception are also friendly and kind, and you can get tourist information.

The distinctive three-winged corner house was created by the merger of two Renaissance houses during the rebuilding in the 1820s, at the very end of Nerudova Street at the intersection of Úvoz Street and the Staircase to the Prague Castle ramp ("Ke Hradu" Street). Today's baroque style of the house dates back to 1723-32, at the turn of the 20th and 21st century it was difficultly adapted for the needs of a luxury hotel. The house sign shows the divine eye.

The history of the house "At the Golden Star" is inextricably linked with Hradchani. The house itself, made in the Baroque style, is located at the foot of the Hradcany Square. The first written mention of it dates from the year 1372. Then the house belonged to the city burmistru. The house acquired its modern baroque appearance in 1723-1732, when it was completely rebuilt. Today, from the interior in good condition, there is a staircase, which is almost 290 years old, as well as richly decorated ceilings. In addition to the star itself, the house “At the Golden Star” also has a second sign - “The All-Seeing Eye”, which is considered to be the sign of masons. They used this symbol to remind them of the all-pervading glance of divine providence, the presence of the Great Architect of the Universe. Such a symbol is present in the decor of almost every Masonic Lodge. At the turn of 20-21 centuries, the house was rebuilt into a luxurious hotel "Golden Star". The hotel rooms overlook the tiled roofs of Lesser Country. On the ground floor there is a good restaurant. To the right of the house, winding steps will lead you to Hradcany Square. At the base of the stairs are sculptures of saints John of Nepomutski and Joseph - the work of the master Brokoff. Here in a small square near the house, in a niche of the wall, you will notice bronze sculptures - these are works of local craftsmen.

I sat on the terrace with a wonderful view on the picturesque street and took only a cappucino. Sadly to say, this coffee was one of the worst I have ever got.
