The Baroque church was built together with the Piarist College according to the project of Giovanni Battista Alliprandi between 1705 - 1715. It forms the dominant of the whole area. The building material was also used from the ruins of a nearby Minorite convent. The church was solemnly consecrated in 1710. At the northeast corner of the church the statue of St. Florian stands, which was moved to this place from the grounds of the Church of St. Nicholas near the main square - and is worth seeing as well! The church of St. Anna adorns the whole square.
