Dnešní podoba kostela je dána barokními úpravami a převážně barokní je i mobilář kostela. V roce 2002 byl kostel poškozen povodní. Při následném restaurování bylo objeveno raně gotické sedile (výklenek se sedadlem) a renesanční sanktuarium. Kostel byl do roku 1789 kostelem klášterním, po zrušení kláštera se stal kostelem farním. Dnes je přístupný pouze při bohoslužbách. Church of St. Vavřinec was founded as a part of the convent of the Augustinians who were founded in Pšovka near Mělník in the 60s of the 13th century.
