Though long ago turned into a granary of a large farmyard and now dilapidated, this originally Gothic fort from the 14th century is still majestic and admirable! The first mention of Litovice appears on a document from 1266, in which Řehník of Litovice is named, the oldest historically documented owner of the Litovice fortress. He was the chamberlain of Queen Kunhuta and King Přemysl Otakar II. His son John IV. of Dražice became the last bishop of Prague. The appearance of the fortress has basically been preserved from original time and is a wonderful example of the French Gothic style in our country, which, moreover, was created at once without usual construction stages. The best preserved Gothic state can be seen in the eastern cellars with the original cross vaults, which are unfortunately non accessible, but you can enter the farmyard (local dog defender barks alot, but fortunately not bite) and see the entrance part of the fortress.

Zajímavé a bohužel nedostupné místo.
Interesting and unfortunately unavailable place. Possibility to see only from the road in an unclear place.Building fortress is located in a former agricultural cooperative.

A tady jde o biskupskou raněgotickou tvrz z r. kolem 1330. Jan z Dražic si k tomu pozval stavitele snad až z Francie.
That a medieval fortress became a grain warehouse is not the only case, for example Brandýs n. L. - Vrábí. But at least something back is much harder. And here it is a bishop's early Gothic fortress from around 1330. John of Dražice invited the builders to perhaps from France.
