I will evaluate it from a purely aesthetic point of view, Apolinář has an architectural and aesthetic gem, it looks like Harry Potter and together with Apolinářská Street they are the perfect combination, especially in the evening.

??? IF YOU HAVE BEEN A UNDERWEAR AT THE APOLINARY, READ OUR EXPERIENCE. WE WERE IN THE SAME SITUATION AND WE ALSO LOOKED FOR INFO ? Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and General University Hospital in Prague or "Apolinář" is one of the oldest maternity hospitals and the best neonatology in the Czech Republic. ? BUILDING: neo-Gothic red brick building from the 19th century, designed by architect Josef Hlávka. It is an architectural gem that will captivate everyone passing by. The interior looks like a "school in Hogwarts". Anxiety can happen to someone in dark corridors with broken arches and small lamps. However, over time you will get used to it and you will find it nice, unconventional and cozy. The dominant feature is the chapel of St. Crosses - I recommend attending Mass or at least peeking through the door. However, the historic building also presents problems. Accessibility means sloping platforms on stairs. The elevators are only in the side tracts of the building. A few departments are after reconstruction, but the others have had their best for a long time ... The overall reconstruction and construction of a new neonatology pavilion has been planned for a long time. ? TRANSPORTATION: The best way to get to Apolinář is by the 1ibus4️⃣8️⃣ midibus line from I. P. Pavlova ? or Karlova náměstí ? (interval 15/30 minutes). It is about 10-15 minutes on foot from the metro. ?️ PARKING: in the surrounding streets in the "purple zone" for 30 CZK / hour (Mon - Fri 8 am - 8 pm). Travel hack: down in Albertov (eg Studničkova street) there is parking for only CZK 15 / hour and a maximum of CZK 60 for the whole day. So you just have to go up the long stairs! ? REFRESHMENT: right in Apolinář there is a café offering hot and cold drinks, desserts and savory delicacies. Soups or smaller dishes / salads for lunch can also be ordered here. There are classic vending machines in the corridors. ? CARE: our daughter passed ARO, JIRP and IMP in 79 days (+ wife still Prenatal, Risk and Sixth). Believe me, if your baby is born prematurely, Apolinář is the best place you can be! Yes, the premises are not ideal - incubators are stored in the corridors, the bathroom is outdated and accommodation in 2- or 3-bed rooms is sometimes unsatisfactory. For longer stays / commuting you can have a little "submarine". We may have been surprised that our daughter was being moved from between departments (but always in a better direction to the home) without our prior notice - although her place remained vacant for a few days. Be prepared that each nurse has a slightly different view of caring for the child. You are first discouraged about rooming (mothers tend to be tired during a long stay), but then they try to get you there as soon as possible. Simply, neonatology at Apolinář has its little flies. BUT DO NOT SOLVE THESE THINGS !!! Nothing is as important as absolutely PERFECT CARE FOR YOUR BABY. FROM DOCTORS THROUGH NURSES AND LACTATION TO SANITARY WOMEN = EVERYONE MAKE EVERY DAY 24/7 TO MAKE THINGS HAPPEN THAT WOULD BE CONSIDERED A MIRACLE A FEW YEARS AGO !!! When you get here, there is a little soul in you and you are afraid! The local staff are the ones who will try to turn your sudden nightmare into a dream with a happy ending! It's admirable how they take their job (in this case, more of a mission). The lives of those little crumbs who would not otherwise have a chance depend on them! We have to appreciate that we live in a time when even a baby gets a chance! Be glad that you are at Apolinář at such a time - there are not many other places where it would be better! Externí External organizations such as Aponedo, Nedoklubko or the Fund for Premature Babies and Their Parents also help with neonatology. They also deserve a huge thank you for their support - from the material equipment of the department to the important information that you will receive at that difficult moment after the unexpectedly early birth!
