A memorial with a bust of Svatopluk Čech in a park in the village green was unveiled on June 19, 1921. The poet and writer liked places from where he was able to see the Říp hill. Therefore, in 1895 he bought a house No. 83 with a garden in Obříství. Later, a wooden annex was added, originally an exhibit of the Prague Ethnographic Exhibition. From Obříství, the poet remotely controlled the operation of the magazine Květy. However, he did not enjoy much peace here, as it was regularly visited by friends of writers such as Ignát Hermann, Josef Václav Rais, Václav V. Štech, Jaroslav Vrchlický, Karolína Světlá, or Mikoláš Aleš. Cech's house currently serves as a ceremonial hall of the village. Part of the monument on the square is a few blocks as a reminder that it was built of the remaining stones after the regulation of the Elbe river in 1914. It was restored in 1946, the original bronze bust was stolen in 1996, the current stone was created in 1998 by Lubomír Růžička.
