Regional Museum in Teplice, contributory organization

We were in the Krupka exhibition, a very lovingly compiled collection on the history of the castle, the area and the spa system. We drove from Seiffen to Teplice. The road through the mountains requires winter equipment (!), Because in contrast to the German side, there is no clearing in the mountains. We met a very flexible cashier ??, because we had no Czech crowns and were allowed to pay in euros. We had a German translator for the tour, which was very helpful! I don't know whether this is always the case or whether there are only German-language tours at certain times. Unfortunately we could not go to the park because it started snowing heavily again and we had to cross the mountain again.

The Regional Museum in Teplice is housed in the building of the Teplice chateau, which for centuries belonged to the aristocratic Clary-Aldringen family and was built on the remains of a Romanesque Benedictine monastery. In addition to the permanent exhibitions - archeology, ceramics and porcelain, spas, Gothic and Baroque art, historic clocks, coin cabinet, historic rooms - you can also see the remains of the Romanesque crypt of the basilica of the original monastery. In its collections, the Teplice Museum has almost two million objects, which are cared for by 5 departments: natural sciences, archeology, history, numismatics and art history. Beautiful museum in the inspirational surroundings (castle park), until March in the museum exhibition world cubes, I recommend with children, also available playroom. Kind and helpful staff, you can also use the sanitary facilities.

The museum offers three sightseeing tours. The classic ones - A and B - are tours of the castle interiors, supplemented by some museum collections and I find them a bit out of date. However, the interiors still have a lot to offer and I think it would be worth at least modernizing these two exhibitions. Otherwise the entrance fee here is still popular and the staff helpful and friendly.
