Restaurace Mincovna má prestižní adresu: Staroměstské náměstí. To je garancí multikulturního prostředí. Restauraci totiž vyhledávají jak turisté a návštěvníci Prahy, tak místní – našinci. Interiér a název restaurace odkazuje na pražskou mincovnu, která se v objektu před dvěma stoletími nacházela. Hned u vstupu na sebe strhnou pozornost měděné pivní tanky nad barem. Kuchyně restaurace vychází z receptů z dob Rakouska-Uherska. Šéfkuchař David Kalina tady vaří se svým týmem tradiční českou kuchyni v moderním pojetí. Vedle tradiční kachny, guláše a svíčkové najdete v menu vídeňský řízek nebo zauzené hovězí hrudí. Z historické oblasti Rakouska-Uherska je také nabídka vín. Ve vinném lístku dominují moravská a česká vína, jež doplňují zástupci z dalších zemí bývalé monarchie. Hosté mohou při každé návštěvě ochutnat i ta nejlepší vína jen po skleničce, nebo plzeňské tankové pivo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food is delicious! Prices are correct, good portions, and it was an excellent way of discovering Czech typical food. My 4 star is only related to deco/ ambiance: the chairs and tables make it feel a bit “cold” instead of cozy (although the floor is very stylish) . I definitely recommend if you’re looking to discover Czech food.

We turned up in a large group (13 people) at 430pm with our hearts set on a Schnitzel after reading online menu. Once we were seated we were told that menu didn't actually start until 6pm. The waitress went and talked to the kitchen and they allowed us to order off the dinner menu.
Great service and food, reasonable price.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great food. Very high quality place, good service and good local food. I recommend going for lunch because they have a menu with lower prices. I dont know if they have it also for the weekend. We both had lunch for 500 crowns which is about 20 euros with great food and drinks. Beer here is one of the best I've tasted.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great service right in the middle of the main square of Prague. I had the beef broth and cheese gnocchis, it was all very good. My husband had the brisket which he also enjoyed. The beer was amazing, but this is in all of Prague. The portions are also generous.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious local food served in a semi-casual setting. This restaurant was recommended to us by a local and we decided to give it a try. We were there just after the lunch crowd so while the restaurant was filled, there wasn't any line and we were seated promptly.
We decided to try a few things from the menu and ordered some fish, prague ham, and a salad. We didn't have any problems speaking English and while our waitress was a bit rushed due to the full restaurant, it wasn't a major issue.
The food itself was delicious and the vegetables stood out on both the fish and ham. Both were freshly prepared and seasoned well and we'd be happy to order them again. The salad was just OK but nothing to complain about there.
Overall we're happy with the recommendation and would gladly return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best place to taste local Czech meals close to Old Town's Square. Definitely not a tourist trap, rather fantastic food and I can't recommend more the Seasonal Dishes. Today I had the best cabbage soup ever and fantastic deer - original recipe from 1921!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went today for lunch to Mincovna as we saw on their website they had a good lunch menu.
The interior is very cozy, with a lot of tables, both small and large,and they can easily accommodate even big groups.
We ordered two chicken schnitzels with mashed potatoes and coleslaw, plus a soup and two small beers.
Everything was delicious, promptly served, piping-hot and the waiting staff was fluent in English and friendly, especially the young girl who attended our table.
Prices honest both for the quantity and quality of the meals.
Overall a lovely restaurant, definitely not one of the many tourist traps you find in the city.
We will most likely be back soon.
