pillar #13, northern side (the bridge side following the river flow). Author: Michal Bernard Mandel in 1714, donor: order of servants in New Town near "Na Slupi" church
The Florentine Saint of the 13th Century is depicted with a crucifix, a branch and a book, with a tiara at his legs reminiscent of his rejection of the papal authority. The Servits ordered the artwork from the sculpturer of Salzburg. He made it from the light local marble, and so it is not the only one marble statue on the bridge, but also unique Baroque marble sculpture in Bohemia. The statue was built after the author's death. In 2000 it was restored by J. Diviš and the sandstone copy of the plinth from 1854 was replaced with a new from the sandstone of Božanov. Repairs were financed by Liechtenstein's princely family.
Sv. Filip Benicius
pilíř č. 13, severní strana (povodní). Autor: Michal Bernard Mandel v r. 1714, donátor: řád servitů na Novém Městě u kostela Na Slupi
Řádový představený a florentský světec 13. století je zobrazen s krucifixem, ratolestí a knihou, u nohou má odloženou tiáru připomínající jeho odmítnutí papežského úřadu. Servité ji objednali u salcburského sochaře, řádového kolegy a zřejmě pražského rodáka Mandela.

St. Filip Benicius
Pillar No. 13, north side (floods). Author: Michal Bernard Mandel in 1714, donor: order of servites in Nové Město near the church Na Slupi
The Order's superior and Florentine saint of the 13th century is depicted with a crucifix, a branch and a book, with a suspended tiara at his feet commemorating his rejection of the papacy. The Servites ordered it from an Salzburg sculptor, a colleague of the order and probably a native of Prague, Mandela. He made it from the local light marble and is therefore not only the only marble statue on the bridge, but also a unique Baroque marble statue in Bohemia. The statue was erected after the author's death. In 2000, it was restored by J. Diviš and the sandstone copy of the plinth from 1854 was replaced by a new one made of Božanovské sandstone. The repairs were financed by the Liechtenstein princely family.
