We stayed in the super cute gas works and staff were fantastic. We had dinner there after a long walk and it was hearty and tasty.
Accom was all we needed but the walls are thin, the only negative.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don't feel great whining here, but some things just have to be said as a cautionary tale. After a day on a mountain trail we wanted to eat dinner in the village. Stara Plynarna looked the most mysterious and beautiful, also the reviews were quite good - but only god knows why. Food was brought after 3 minutes of waiting, dumplings were cold and uneadible : super dry, hard and with some bizarre pink meat inside. I was so hungry, that I ate a little bit, but immediately started to feel sick in my stomach. It was the fist time in my life when I actually return the food I ordered. So sad, because the place looks stunning, but the food is just some cheap processed trash deep-fried in the old oil bath.
+ : they didn't make me pay for the returned meal

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The building itself is a part of the trip. Really beautifully designed in between rocks. After reading couple of bad reviews about the food I've decided to give it a try. And I did really smart decision. Food was good and traditional Czech dumplings filled with pork meat was like made by my mom.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Review applies only to the restaurant as we did not stay there. Building is beautiful but just take a picture and leave, cause the rest sucks.
Food barely had flavour. 'Confit duck leg' clearly boiled en masse and then fried in the pan for a little bit to give it some colour. Cabbage from a can, wet, unseasoned and cold. Knödel completely devoid of flavour. 'Home-made lemonade' is just them pouring some various store bought bottles into a vase (I watched them do it), and literally does not taste of anything. Staff didn't speak a word of English - strange for a place that gets so many tours - and had no idea who ordered what, went to other tables with the food before coming around to ours. One of the, if not THE worst place I think I've ever had the displeasure of eating.
