Jinak bez hromady asiatů a rusáků je to tu krásné a máte klid na prohlídku. It's a pity that half of the defense gallery is closed, allegedly due to low attendance. But the entrance fee is in full. The name refers to the original White Tower, which stood in the southern part of the castle area between II. and III. courtyard and served originally as the (later abolished) southern access to the Castle. In 1584 a state prison and a torture chamber for convicts from higher class were transferred from the White Tower to the New White Tower. It´s involuntary residents during the reign of Rudolf II. were for example the English alchemist E. Kelly or the chamberlains F. Lang and K. Rucký. Signs and drawings of prisoners have been preserved on the walls. The New White Tower is connected with the more famous Daliborka Tower by a defensive corridor in the wall. Nová Bílá věž byla vystavěná na konci 15. století Benediktem Rejtem jako součást jagellonského opevnění Pražského hradu. Jméno odkazuje na původní Bílou věž, který stála v jižní části hradního areálu mezi II. a III. nádvořím a kterou vedl zrušený jižní přístup do Hradu. V roce 1584 bylo z Bílé věže do Nové Blíže věže přeneseno státní vězení a mučírna pro odsouzené z vyšších kruhů. Jeho nedobrovolnými obyvateli se za panování Rudolfa II. stali např. anglický alchymista E. Kelly, nebo komorníci F. Lang a K. Rucký. Na stěnách se zachovaly nápisy a kresby vězňů. Obrannou chodbou v hradbě je Nová Bílá věž spojena se známější věží Daliborkou.
