The armor exhibit is in the top of the castle wall walk. Where the guards would watch or defend the castle. That historical part was interesting. The other part, the armor was not so much. It was comprised completely of modern reproductions of armors, and they were wrong. The shaping and proportion and fabrication was all inept. If you know nothing about armour then it would be fine, but if you have knowledge of the historical pieces then you will be sorely disappointed.

In the Prague Castle complex, walk up above the shops on Golden Lane for a display of medieval armor and weapons

Small and don't have any plaques or anything else to tell you what is going on, but some pretty gnarly looking stuff. Also a very small room, so what you see in the photos is what you get.

Great history of armors, helmets, weapons and the way of living from around years 800 to 1800. If you like medieval stuff, this is a place to visit!

Since you are already up at the castle take a walk through this area to see all kinds of armor on the second floor (you wont find it on the main floor).

Only reason to go there is for a good laugh. None of the stuff they show is actually old and good chunk of the armour and weaponry they show is just made up and completely ahistorical. Look at these helmets: no one ever wore something like this

This exhibit is on Golden Lane and is an exhibition of torture methods and armoury. There's a steep climb up some narrow staircases were there's about 6 rooms of exhibitions. Most of the collection are of a good standard, but mostly just a collection of stuff with some small explanatory labels.

I gave it 5 stars just for the sake of it being free. It was probably my favorite part of the whole Prague castle, but it was very hard to move around. The stairs are steep, the corridors are narrow and I can’t even imagine how bad it gets in the season. I loved the weaponry collection, the torture chamber and the armor. My only wish is that I could learn more about the history of individual pieces, or at least their purpose.
