★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Vedle vchodu do kostela Nanebevzetí Panny Marie je umístěna busta významného rodáka z Horní Krupky, MuDr. Ferdinanda Arlta (1812-1887), zakladatele moderního očního lékařství. V pravo od busty se na zdi nachází i jeho pamětní deska. V roce 1843 byl docentem očního lékařství a o čtyři roky později získal další docenturu za práci o patologické anatomii oka. Ačkoli žil střídavě ve Vídni a v Praze, vracel se do Krupky a společně s bratrem Václavem zde založil malou školu.
Next to the entrance to the church of the Assumption of Virgin Mary you can see a bust of a prominent native of Horní Krupka Dr. Ferdinand Arlt (1812-1887), the founder of modern ophthalmology. On the right of the bust, the memorial plaque is hanging on the church´wall. In 1843 he was an associate professor of ophthalmology and four years later he received an additional lectureship for his work on pathological anatomy of the eye. Although he lived alternately in Vienna and Prague, he has been returning to Krupka and together with his brother Václav he founded a small school here.
