The fountain is located in the north-western part of Prague's Old Town Square on the corner of Pařížská Street, behind the chancel of the church and was created by architect Rudolf Kříženecký. The shaped tank in the middle of the fountain is decorated with a profiled column with three interlocking dolphins. These are the work of sculptor František Hnátka. The Cubist lattice on the fountain is probably a work designed by the architect and architect Josef Chochol. The fountain was built in 1906 as part of the landscaping after the sanitation. Based on the sketch created, his design was preferred by the technical commission of 1905 to Jan Štursa's proposal as "relatively artistically better" and the financial aspect also played a role:
