It was 21.20 and we finished our main course and wanted a dessert but they said it was closing... I askes what time? 22.00.... Wouldn’t eat there again with such service.

Staff is unprofessional and cheeky, e.g. we were left wirhout notice for more than 15min sitting on the empty terrace with three occupied tables, we had to bring menu ourself, waiter forgot the food and after 45min when we reminded him his answer was, citing: “really, I have not been here for a while”. The cherry on the top was him complaining about card payment not being mentioned upfront (of course he did not ask). He did not apologize once.

M	M K on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ RESTAURANT experience only Unsuitable for foreigners, anyone with children (even well behaved ones and used to dining out) and also anyone expecting at least neutral service. I have never been one of those requiring a great, smiley and obliging waiters, but wow, after this experience, I’m ready to give extra points to any place where the waiters don’t spoil my evening. I mean, how dare I ask for an extra plate?! How dare I try to wave politely to get their attention when they are never ever looking? And how dare I send the kids to check out the dessert fridge when they can happen to cross the server’s path while carrying out drinks in an almost empty restaurant?! The food itself and the place were lovely and I loved the rustic atmosphere. It’s the waiters who completely killed it for us. Super passive aggressive and unhappy people. Given an opportunity, they have no other weapons, but turn to racism and offending you, really the saddest and simplest examples of how bad basic human instincts can look. For example, refusing to speak English because we’re in the Czech Republic and threatening to call the police when we asked to speak to the manager. Even asked the man at the table to come settle it by a fight outside. I mean!!! And all this while we were truly rather speechless and didn’t provoke the guy. Really didn’t expect to see attitudes like these in Špindl in particular.

P	Paul Millar on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are at the restaurant 3 nights out of 4 we stayed in Špindlerův Mlýn. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good quality and well prepared. It’s was very reasonable priced and good value. It’s an honest restaurant to enjoy honest, tasty food. Very pleasant and worth a visit. Good location too.
