Navštívili jsme letošní oslavy 2017 bitvy u Kolína. Nadšení veliké. Vše dobře připravené. Oficiální část stručná. Bitva perfektně komentovana. Občerstvení hodně stánků. Možná bych přidala pár laviček z tělocvičny. Míst na sezení bylo málo.
We visited this year's celebration of the 2017 battle at Kolín. Great enthusiasm. Everything well prepared. The official part is brief. Battle perfectly commented. Snacks a lot of stalls. Maybe I'd add a few benches from the gym. There were not enough seats.

Now, that's a very interesting history! The first mention of the village dates back to the year 1200, when the Sedlec monastery bought fields from the royal court in Křečhoř. In 1295, King Wenceslas II forgave the Cistercians for certain payments from Křečhoř. In 1310 John of Luxembourg gave the village to the High Marshal Henry of Lipá, but in 1319 Eliška Rejčka bought it back and gave it to the St. Vitus Chapter at Prague Castle. The village was in the possession of the Prague Chapter until 1436, when Emperor Sigismund gave it to Sigismund of Smilovice, from whom the town of Kolín bought it and permanently added it to its estates, where it was until 1848. What a name is a piece of Czech history. Who would have guessed it about a quiet and unassuming village, where around five hundred inhabitants live today.
