★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Martinic Palace stands in Kanovnická Street and faces it´s main facade to Hradčanské Square. It is one of the most beautiful Renaissance buildings of Prague from the second half of the 16th century. The object, built after the fire of Hradčany and Malá Strana in 1541, was owned by Ondřej Teyfl of Kinsdorf and Zeilberk. In 1583 it was sold to Jiří Bořit of Martinique at Smetana, who immediately began to rebuild it. The palace was in the possession of the Martinic family until 1788 when the last family mamber died. It is open to the public again since 2011. The palace can be viewed with a guide. The representative area of the palace, including outdoor areas and gardens is currently for rent. The premises can be used for organizing social events, banquets, concerts, conferences, or lectures.
Martinický palác stojí v Kanovnické ulici a hlavním průčelím budovy je obrácen na Hradčanské náměstí v Praze. Patří mezi nejkrásnější renesanční stavby Prahy druhé poloviny 16. století. Budova, postavená po požáru Hradčan a Malé Strany v roce 1541, byla v majetku Ondřeje Teyfla z Kinsdorfu a Zeilberku. V roce 1583 byla prodána Jiřímu Bořitovi z Martinic na Smečně, který ji začal okamžitě přestavovat. Palác byl v majetku rodu Martiniců až do roku 1788, kdy rod vymřel. Od roku 2011 je opět otevřen veřejnosti. Palác je možné si prohlédnout s průvodcem. K pronájmu se nabízí reprezentační prostory paláce včetně venkovních prostor a zahrady. Prostory lze využít k pořádání společenských akcí, rautů, koncertů, konferencí, přednášek.
