The Matyáš's gazebo stands on the corner of the Prague Castle enclosure wall and is part of the Southern Garden " Na Valech", which was built between 1920 and 1931 by merging several older gardens according to the plans of Josip Plečnik. The round renaissance building with a turret from 1614 is at the southernmost and most eastern point of the garden. Matyáš's gazebo is sometimes incorrectly called the Trumpeter´s Tower. There is a sculpture Good Shepherd by Josef Kalvoda in his neighborhood from 1922. The painting of the gazebo was made in 1848 by Josef Navrátil and in the pavilion there is also a wooden ceiling with 39 characters of the countries belonging to Austria-Hungary. On the corner enclosure wall of the garden, there is a baroque house "U hvězdy" (the Old Gamekeeper's lodge), which was built between 1667 and 1669. Late Baroque facade (today's appearance) and extension of the second floor was built after 1780.
