★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kutná Hora, Havlíčkovo náměstí. Jen pár kroků od staroslavného Vlašského dvora je tato nepřehlédnutelná socha. Připomíná pobyt Karla Havlíčka v tomto městě v létě 1851. Správně, bylo to pět let před jeho smrtí.
Už jsem v předchozí recenzi psal, že tento spisovatel, básník, politik i elegán pobyl na tomto světě 12 690 dnů. Povětšinou těžkých dnů.
Jeho pomníků po republice, ale i v americkém Chicagu, je hodně. Ale co mě zaujalo, že na čtyřech z nich je zpodobněn ve stejném dramatickém gestu s pravou rukou mířící ...

Kutna Hora, Havlickovo namesti. Just a few steps from the Old Walnut Court, this unmistakable statue. It reminds of Karel Havlíček's stay in this town in the summer of 1851. Right, it was five years before his death.
I wrote in a previous review that this writer, poet, politician, and elegance spent 12,690 days in this world. Mostly difficult days.
His memorials around the Republic, but also in Chicago, USA, are many. But what intrigued me was that four of them were portrayed in the same dramatic gesture with their right hand pointing ...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This monument stands in tribute to Karel Havlíček Borovský, a 19th century Czech writer, journalist, politician and publisher. He is considered a Czech patriot, contemporous withf František Palacký in the Czech National Revival movement.
This monument features a bronze sculpture of Karel Havlíček Borovský depicted in a pose similar to many other Czech monuments honouring him. He is wearing traditional Czech clothing underneath a full cloak. He is look upwards to the right and his right hand is raised point in the same direction. The sculptor has made an effort to sculpt the details of his jacket to clearly indicate that he is wearing Czech attire and there are many folds in the cloak he is holding up with his left hand.
The sculpture stands atop a plinth, set in a small flower bed. It's also located across the street from the Italian Court, which is another attraction in Kutna Hora. The sculpture is not a must see, but is worth a look if in the area.
